In our passage today Jesus is challenged two separate times regarding his knowledge of the Father and the scriptures. Unphased, Jesus calmly explains the proof that is found in the word. As I read our passage today I am struck at his explanation of the afterlife. “God says, 'I am—not was—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.' The living God defines himself not as the God of dead men, but of the living."
God says he still is the God of those how have passed, that means they still exist in heaven. I love the thought that He is still our God after we die. As my father’s impending death looms so closely, I find comfort know that God is the God of Dave Webb in this life and the next.
I hope you find comfort in that too. No matter what you are facing God is God. Nothing will change that not even death, because there is more to life than just this world.
