Will the day come when you and I will be asked who we worship? Will our faith be challenged and our lives at stake? Or, do you believe that day is here? These words below have me thinking that everyday is a day we must chose who we serve, and to proclaim it to the masses.
Acts 24:14-16(NIV)
However, I
admit that I worship the God of our fathers as a follower of the Way, which they
call a sect. I believe everything that agrees with the Law and that is written
in the Prophets, and I
have the same hope in God as these men, that there will be a resurrection of
both the righteous and the wicked. So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.
Paul was accustomed to defending his faith and facing the very real probability he would be imprisoned for his words. Now, I am not down-playing any of the time Paul spent in chains for the gospel, but suggest that we too can find ourselves in those same chains. While not physically incarcerated, our proclamation could cause us to be caged in a dead end job. The fact we are Christians and say it boldly could offend our superiors and impede our advancement in the business world.
There are many ways we could be ostracized from the world. Many ways we might need strong faith to face the day. Do you find yourself on trial for your Christian beliefs? As a popular question asks, "Is there enough evidence to convict?"
