In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
in accordance with the riches of God's grace
We use the word
grace in everyday life when we speak of something as being a 'grace-operation'. For example, a credit card company or insurance company will offer a grace period with their payment
plan.
Grace is sometimes described as a movement which flows effortlessly, with style and beauty. A
graceful dancer is one we could watch for hours.
According to
Merriam-Webster, Grace is unmerited divine assistance given humans for their
regeneration or sanctification; approval; favor. These are just a few of the
definitions of this word grace.
The grace we
receive from God is all that and so much more. Grace is a free gift, we could
never earn it nor deserve it. This month we will be talking about this enigma
called grace; this gift God bestows on our hearts every day we draw breath.
We will examine individual grace and corporate grace. I am
confident we will be amazed at the grace in our lives when we truly look, when
we consider what we deserve and hold that up against what we receive.
When Jesus lived among us, He came to grace us with His love and forgiveness. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."
