The Israelites obedience to these Commandments was critical to their prosperity in the Land. Our obedience to these Commandments is critical to ours as well. God demands our obedience and submission as Believers and Followers of Jesus. We know a Christian does not necessarily have an easy life. In fact quite the opposite is often true, but life is much different, much better than before we learned to follow the Light.
Deuteronomy 5:33 (NIV)
Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.
When God appeared to Moses and presented him with these laws, Moses was changed. We read of Moses face being so bright that the people could not gaze upon him. God's appearances have always been terrible to man, ever since the fall; but Christ, having taken away sin, invites us to come boldly to the throne of Grace.
How do we approach that throne? There are many ways: bowed in prayer, humbly with a contrite heart, confidently with the knowledge of His love. The key is to approach it, to be true and honest and open. Talk to God and recognize the Throne of Grace as the gateway to peace, love and joy.
