Unique Through Grace

1 Corinthians 12:12 (MSG)
You can easily enough see how this kind of thing works by looking no further than your own body. Your body has many parts—limbs, organs, cells—but no matter how many parts you can name, you're still one body. It's exactly the same with Christ.

Where is the 'grace' in the selection above?  Can you see it; is it obvious to you or do you have to squint to get a better focus on the grace?  Writing about grace, praying and discerning an application for these past four weeks has been challenging to say the least, and there is still one week to go.  So, how does one find grace in these verses, how does one recognize grace in day to day life?

This has been a real lesson for me, as I would put on my thinking cap, take a look at the lines from all sides and glean an instance of God's grace from the few words before me.  And, you know what?  I am learning that the Bible, especially the New Testament is loaded with instances of God's grace working.  Sometimes it is obvious and brazen, right in front of the readers' eye as in the story of the Prodigal Son.  Other times God's grace is working in the background, changing hearts and opening minds.

Another lesson I learned is the necessity to look around at my own life, my struggles and victories.  Again, grace is everywhere.  It is bold at times when God works to help me escape a tricky financial situation.  It is subtle other times, causing me to pause and listen when I normally would rush right in.  I learn later that had I reacted instead of stalled those few minutes I might have made a terrible mistake.

Grace abounds.  Grace is everywhere.  Look around and discover God's grace in every step you take.
