Linked-in with God

Acts 2:22, 36 (NIV) Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God...Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

I last wrote on Acts 2:22-26 in May of 2013.  That day I focused on verse 26, which spoke loudly to me then.  But, because the Word of God is living and active, I was touched in an entirely new way today.  Verse 22 reads that Jesus was accredited by God.  Meaning He was endorsed by God. Oh my, what a strong statement, to be endorsed by God.

One of the highest compliments one can get is the recommendation of another. When looking for the perfect doctor, we ask our friends and family for advice. If we are planning a special vacation we go to the professional to help us find the right spot at the right price. The more esteemed the adviser the more trustworthy their direction. In any case, seeking wise counsel is always a step toward success and satisfaction.

Too often we strive for the endorsement of someone who really has no experience in the realm in which we are searching, but because they are popular for accomplishments in one area we look to them for guidance or leadership in others.  Just because a former actor has a room full of awards for his or her acting ability doesn't mean they will be experts we should turn to for financial planning.

There is someone we can trust, someone God himself has endorsed and publicly proclaims. Luke 3:22 (NIV) and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

The ultimate endorsement for this Believer is, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
