Acts 1:13-9-14 (MSG) They went to the upper room they had been using as a meeting place: Peter, John, James, Andrew, Philip, Thomas, Bartholomew, Matthew, James, son of Alphaeus,Simon the Zealot, Judas, son of James. They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer, the women included. Also Jesus' mother, Mary, and his brothers.
I am drawn to the phrase, "They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer." That is a picture I want to capture in my heart. This was the beginning, the new beginning for all those gathered together in that room. They gathered, prayed and waited as they had been commanded in Luke 24:49. "What comes next is very important: I am sending what my Father promised to you, so stay here in the city until he arrives, until you're equipped with power from on high."

What a scary but exciting time this must
have been. There were about 120 people gathered, the first Believers, not sure
even of what they believed in, but certain something very big was about to take
place. These people were eye witnesses to Jesus' life and death and
Resurrection and many even witnessed His Ascension. They were all together, completely together in prayer.
These 120 were in the verge of going out.
They would soon get their marching orders and would joyfully GO and tell
what they had seen, what they had experienced, and mostly they were excited to
tell of the Man they had so dearly loved.
Isn't that just what we are also supposed to be doing?
Imagine you were one of those 120. What would be the range of
emotions you are feeling about now? Fear? Anxiety? Excitement? All
of the above most likely.
What would be your first move? What will be your first move?
How does one begin? Take the first step and pray to the Holy Spirit
for wisdom and courage. Then watch and see what happens next.
