Angel Partners

Acts 8:26 (NIV) Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, "Go south to the road--the desert road--that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza."

There is a scripture verse I love to read which talks about entertaining angels unaware. I first discovered this verse when reading a book by Dale Evans. It is the beautiful story of a child named Robin, born to Dale Evans and Roy Rogers. Angel Unaware is Robin’s account of her life as she looks down from heaven.  She speaks to God about the mission of love she just completed on earth and the reader sees how she brought her parents closer to God and encouraged them to help other children in need.

I was reminded of this after reading the story of Philip and the angel of the LORD who pointed to the path Philip laid out for him to take.  The LORD had a plan to use him to further the Kingdom.  Philip obeyed the angel and another name was added to the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Do we believe in Angels; in miracles? How often do we miss experiencing an amazing adventure because we allow our inadequate rational to determine what is and isn't possible. I am afraid to think of the times I didn't move when God nudged, when I shied away from an assignment God wanted me to accept.

Philip had a heart open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  We need to be available also, for we would not want to miss an Angel.
