The Chosen Few

Psalm 33:12-15 (NIV)
  Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
  From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;

  from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--

  he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

Israel was the chosen nation; is the chosen nation. What does it mean to be chosen; even more than that, to be chosen by God. Because of His choice, to love us, we have a choice too.  We can choose to love and serve Him and embrace the salvation He offers, or we can reject all this.

I have marked this section in my Bible with the date 4/8/08. These words must have spoken to me that day. For me to know what was going on in my life then, I would need to dig out my journal from that day and read my words. But I know that in 2008 my life was continuing its change. My walk with Christ was developing deeper meaning and my heart was mending.

The various places in scripture which refer to our being chosen touch my spirit.  Just the thought that Jesus chose me, picked me to send His Son to die for, takes my breath away.  If He chose me why would I hesitate to choose Him? Without His choice, I have no choice at all.

John 15:16 (NIV) You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

I will choose Him every day.
