“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. (Luke 10:5-7)
Peace is something we seek when we are in the company of strangers. It is difficult to enter a room where there is not a soul we know personally. When this happens to me, I find a comfortable corner and stake my claim.
As I grow spiritually and find my comfort zone can be filled with people I enjoy, I am able to look at these situations with a different eye. Now, when I encounter situations which challenge my courage, I can enjoy the challenge because I enjoy people.

It might be age, or maybe experience, but I find people are people the world over and we all have the same fears. Often I am able to discern a person of peace in our first few words, as, even before even speaking, body language and eye contract speak loud and clear.
People of peace are those I want to spend time with; they are people I would be willing to do battle with and for. A fellow Christian who is a person of peace to me, is a gift from God.
Relationships are unavoidable and they are either pleasant or they are not. Jesus recognized the importance of good chemistry and He encouraged his followers to seek out those people who provide a sense of comfort and companionship. People of peace are welcoming and generous as well as partners in life and service.
Are you going to be a person of peace...or find one?
