I Am The Truth

How often do we say or hear the words, “I no longer know who I can trust,” or “what is truth?”   We may speak about truth as though it is not absolute, that it is a matter of personal definition. However, when we are betrayed, and deceived, we may react in a very different and personal way. Truth and relevance increasingly seem ambiguous and indefensible, as though Jesus is once again standing before Pilate the “would be philosopher, the interrogator” of the meaning of truth.

Aleithia, the Greek word for truth literally means "unconcealed - unveiled.”

Unconcealed words of Jesus:

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.”  (John 10:9)

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)

The Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.  (John 14:17)

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.”  (John 17:17)

The Old Testament temple was marked by partitions. There was one only gate by which people could enter into the tabernacle courtyard. This 30 foot wide gate in the center of the outer court was covered by a veil made of finely twisted blue, purple and scarlet linen. There were three entrances, the outer court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. Jesus by His death, took out the veil, and became the Way (the outer court), the Truth (the Holy Place), and the Life (the Holy of Holies).

The Cross forever dissolved the partitions of the temple. We can come directly into the presence of the unveiled Father God through his Son Jesus. We can know and trust the one who is truth-the Holy Place.  We can call on Jesus and all things become possible!
