Blind Faith

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Assurance and Conviction are two words in the verse above which are used to describe faith. Faith is a blessed assurance of our future with Jesus.  That the things He told us about His Father are true. We can believe in life forever, assured of this by faith.

Things hoped for are real. There is truth in Jesus' words and we can carry this conviction in our hearts until the day we draw our final earthly breath.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

This makes sense, doesn't it? How can we please someone we don't believe in? We cannot expect any reward, eternal life with God, if we don't believe he exists. It is our faith, blind faith, which makes us precious to Him. "...blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29)

Hebrews 11:1, 6, 39-40
