Exodus 19:1-6; 20:1-7

The Covenant Made

Command: order, bid, enjoin, direct, instruct, charge mean to issue orders. Command and order imply authority and usually some degree of formality.

Covenant: A sacred agreement between God and people. A covenant is a sacred agreement between God and a person or group of people. God sets specific conditions, and He promises to bless us as we obey those conditions.

‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself. Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’

These were God’s words to Moses. He was to communicate this message to the Israelites as they camped at the foot of Mr. Sinai. Then God presented Moses the Ten Commandments. These commands were the conditions of his covenant.
These were not the Ten Requests, Ten Wishes, or Ten Desires, but the

TEN COMMANDMENTS!

Do you trust God to keep His covenant?
Can God trust that we will obey him fully and keep His covenant?
