I see
the mother of a toddler observing him safely play on the floor as she works in
the kitchen. She summons her child to the table to join her for lunch. It’s not
about toys or food but caring for those you love.
I envision
a man coming home after a night out on the town in search of the perfect mate.
His canine friend warmly welcomes him home with genuine affection, eager to be
near him. It’s about nothing but love.
I
imagine a teenage girl storming out of the house in anger because her parents are holding to their standards and she wants them to waiver. It’s about
setting boundaries that mean everything because of love.
I
visualize these same parents waiting up all night, praying she is safe. It’s
about trusting in the God of love.
“The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.” Psalms 145:13
“The
eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.” Psalms
145:15
“The
Lord is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.” Psalm
145:17
“The
Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” Psalms
145:18
We
try so hard to get what we think we need. We search for meaning and purpose in
destructive ways.
We
hear His word. We put Him in the back of our minds and call on him when in
distress, but often do not look to him in thanks for the joys of this life.
We
have heard that God is always by our side and has done wondrous thing for us. Well
then;
"Let
every creature praise his Holy name forever and ever.”
Psalms 145:21
