Acts 4:8-20 Healed for
Eternity
There is no more desperate prayer for physical healing than that
of a parent for their child. There is no
more humbly dependent posture than giving it over to God, whose love for our
children is greater than ours.
Today would be my son’s birthday. His spirit is healed for eternity,
though not the disease that ended his life too soon.
Jesus consistently rebuked disease of the body, mind and spirit. He
declared an all-out offensive against sin, disease and death. He was moved with
compassion to heal and liberate. Of the four gospels, Luke the physician records the most accounts of Jesus’ healing the
sick.
The Acts of the Apostles leaves no doubt that Peter, Paul and many
other of the apostles interpreted the whole gospel to include physical healing.
“It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but
whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.”
Acts 4:10
In the world of spirit there is only the eternal now. God has
completed in eternity all that is started in history. He never starts anything
that hasn’t already been completed.
God heals to lead people to repentance, to remove hindrances for
service and ministry, to demonstrate the presence of the kingdom. God heals simply because people ask Him to,
and He heals -- for
sovereign purposes known only to Him. (Jack Deere, Surprised by the Power
of the Holy Spirit)
I love you Christian, “all the way to Heaven!”
