Division in the Church

During the time I worked as a nurse case manager for the Healthcare Insurance Industry I managed a case of Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD,) brought on by an injury to my client’s hand. Within days the local pain of the injury to his hand affected his entire body!

“For just as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body though many, are one body - so also is Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12

Paul taught the church in Corinth about the importance of every member within the body of Christ. Each of our roles is worthy in the church. The body of Christ works best when all work together in one accord. I love how we all have different gifts, how we shine when we blend and share these beautifully wrapped gifts! Regardless of our gifts, we were all designed to work together as the body of Christ in unity and peace. Every big or little part of this networked body creates harmony and balance.

When we understand the significance of our roles, when we celebrate our gifts and those of others, the simplest tasks are performed with joy (as all of our work is kingdom work.)

Father, thank You for the opportunity to serve in the body of Christ - Your work of redemption. How I would hope to receive from You the “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award!”
