A Vision of Blind Faith

Do we realize just how many things we take on faith? Everyday things like, running water, the act of breathing in and out, the love of family members. There are other things we take for granted, like a grocery store stocked with the things we need to eat, a key that starts the ignition for your car or your boat, or mail delivery.

We have faith that when our grass dies in the fall, it will need cutting again in the spring. These are things we barely even consider on a day to day basis. We simply have faith that they will work or happen as they always do.

When we speak of faith, often we are talking about religious beliefs. This kind of faith doesn't come naturally. Faith in something/someone we cannot see is more challenging. For us to have faith, to come to believe in God and use Scriptures to determine our lifestyle; well that is something quite different. It doesn't come naturally,

Hebrews 11:3,4,5 (NIV)
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did...By faith Enoch was taken from this life, ... By faith Noah,...By faith Abraham...

Someday it could be said of you and of me...by faith they pressed on against insurmountable odds. By faith they reached out and loved through illness and death. By faith they followed the right path. By faith they lived out their faith and told others about Jesus and the difference He has made in their lives.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

There is much more that can be said about faith, many testimonies of faithfulness during our lifetime, but you get the picture.

Hebrews 11:1-13
