Jesus Testifies to the Truth

John 18:36-37   

 “My kingdom is not of this world.”

Jesus declares His citizenship; “Why were you searching for me? He asked. Didn’t you not know I had to be in my Father’s house?” Luke2:49

Isaiah announces the One who will come to redeem Israel and become a light to the Gentiles. A king will come from David’s line to rule in peace and justice forever. Isaiah 9:6-7

 “Enemy occupied territory – that is what this world is. Christianity is the story of how the rightful king has landed, you might say landed in disguise, and is calling us all to take part in a great campaign of sabotage.” (C.S. Lewis)

Ecclesiastes 3:11  God has set eternity in our hearts. We long to go out from this world in search of our lost home – a better country. Abraham was looking for a  country of his own, a city with foundations whose architect and builder is God.” Hebrews 11:10 Living by faith when he died, and not having received the things promised, he welcomed them from a distance, admitting he was a foreigner and stranger on earth. Hebrews 11:13
