Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. As a disciple, we work to embrace a life that reflects a whole spirit. We want to have a heart that is fully put together, open and willing to be like Jesus. But we are human and will fail sometimes.
Jesus' whole spirit invites us to get up and try again. Over and over if necessary, until we get it just about right. We will never be perfect, this side of Heaven, but we can get closer than we are today. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.
