How have you changed?

ACTS 8:1-3
I recently toured a horse farm to see just how they create a winning race horse.  It all depends on a high value stallion being bred with an ideal mare.  She cares for the yearling but after they are separated, the horses become complete strangers!  They can pass each other in the field and not even recognize they are related.
It reminds me of our transformation as Christians.  At the point that we encounter Jesus, we are changed so significantly that we can seem nothing like our old selves.
God has chosen His children to be born of the Holy Spirit with a destiny to be transformed by Christ.  It can occur at any time in our life.  Whenever it happens, our priorities will shift as we are set apart by God to find our true identity in Christ.  Our family and friends may no longer recognize us as we are called out of our old ways to follow Jesus.
Just as the yearling is engineered to become a winning race horse, we are born of the Holy Spirit to be victorious for Christ.  In this human race, we live for Godly desires and seek spiritual rewards promised by Him.  As we strive to be more like Him, we needn't worry that any one of us is ever forgotten by Our Heavenly Father.
