The Vision of a New Home

Read: Revelation 22:1-5

My husband and I have been house hunting for several months now.  The search has been excruciatingly tedious and frustrating. That the “ideal” home we have been searching for seems nowhere to be found. They are either too old, not big enough, not in a good location, or some other negative trait.  It literally seems like we might NEVER find the home that will be a perfect fit!

Yesterday a new listing came up and it fit all the criteria of what we have been looking for!!  The excitement mounted and we began taking the next steps to view the home and see where things go!  

As I was going to sleep last night, I was envisioning myself with my family, living day to day in this new home!  We were laughing, enjoying meals together, spending quality family time together.  It put a new pep in my step and gave me a new vision of how I want my life for myself and my family to unfold over the next few years.

Today’s reading gives us a NEW VISION of our heavenly home!  It will be an everlasting home where:  

• Living waters overflows from the throne of the Living God.  Jesus is the Living Water!

• All of our needs will be richly and abundantly supplied with fruit that give life! Jesus is the Bread of Life. 

• Healing from all of our earthly trials will restore us. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed. 

• We will SEE God face to face.  Moses longed to see God’s face, but God had to hide him in the cleft of a rock to shield him from His Powerful Radiance.  Yet, we will KNOW Him intimately and live with Him because Jesus covered all our shame.

• We won’t have to fear the darkness anymore, because the Lord God will erase all the darkness and illuminate EVERYTHING with His Glory. Jesus is the Light of the World!

• God will unfold the wonders of His majesty before our eyes.  We will gratefully praise Him, and serving Him will bring us unending JOY!

• We will live in a Kingdom where those who have been washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb will also REIGN with HIM. 

Can you picture it?  Is it a place you want to call HOME?  How will the assurance of knowing this is our ultimate destination change your life today?
