March 23 - God Grants all Power

The political climate is at an all time low. There are divisive tactics, slander, and wrongdoing. Then along comes the Coronavirus and we see glimpses of a united front.  Nothing brings us together like a common enemy.  In times like these we sense that God’s authority is granted to all rulers.

It's refreshing when our leaders work in everyone's best interest.  We feel better until the critics try to change the mood back to one of a bipartisan government.  If we can't separate politics from this crisis, perhaps we can introduce a mix of church and state to keep us whole.  Simply put, all power is from God,  and so we honor God's sovereignty when we honor authority.

There is so much panic about the unknown.  So many are frightened about their very survival and uncertain about their livelihood.  Confidence in the providence of God’s protection can comfort each of us when we have doubt. We need only trust God's plan regardless of what is happening.

Respect and appreciation for the people taking charge during this crisis is where we begin.  We must follow their guidance.  They are doing the best they can.  Not everything is under their control but we know the Kingdom of God will come, His will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.  Our hope and faith remain in the hands of God.
