Who do you call when enemies attack? Where do you turn when the world comes at you
from all sides?
Our first instinct is usually to rely on family, friends and
even strangers. And while it’s
comforting to know others have our back, real deliverance comes from the Lord.
I know when life gets tough and I start feeling overwhelmed, I can easily get lost in the obscurity of it all. Oftentimes, it isn’t until I’ve lost control that I feel God’s gentle nudge and hear, “Take a deep breathe. You’re going to be okay. I’m right here.” I’m working on getting to that place of peace, sooner rather than later and the following verses from Psalm 3 are helping me get there:
You Lord are a shield around me, my glory, the One who
lifts my head high. I call out to the
Lord, and he answers me (v. 3-4).
God always answers.
God always delivers.
Repeat as necessary…
God always answers.
God always delivers.
Thank you, Father, for your unwavering support. You are
always there, even when I don’t recognize it.
May I have the faith of David and cry out like he did, “Deliver Me, my
God!” And rest in the knowledge that you
will always answer, and you will always deliver. Amen
