Commit your way to the Lord...

Psalm 37:5-10

...trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
  Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.  Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.  A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.

             Does the daily news concern you?  Is society impacting the world in ways that upset you?  How do evil people seem to be gaining in power and prestige?  Our focus is frequently distracted by those who succeed with wicked schemes.  Yet if we let this envy dwell in our soul, it will lead to evil IN US.
             How do our human hearts become so concerned with what others achieve?  It may begin with coveting what exists on this earth instead of seeking righteous rewards.  It might continue with our confusion over what success looks like and what it actually is.  We become dissatisfied and complacent. Then false idols can easily consume our hearts and minds by misleading and distorting desires and thoughts.
             We can't allow our gratitude to run low and our needs to grow large.  God blesses us with more than earthly riches.  He cares for our soul!  None of what there is to possess on this earth can fill the spot designed only for God.  Ultimate joy comes once we discover that none of the temporary things in life are meant to sustain us
             Refrain from anger and turn from wrath.  God is at work!  Injustice may prevail now but God will ultimately destroy evil.  We must commit to bring His light into this darkness.  Use your gifts and talents to magnify Him.  Remain good stewards of what you have been given.  Remember, through Him we have received better than we deserve.  We shall wait patiently and be still before the LORD because ALL hope is in GOD!
