Has God ever answered a specific prayer for you in a way that left no doubt it was truly an act of God? Eight years ago my husband and I were preparing to move from Ohio to California. This was a big move and we felt God was leading, but kept asking God to reveal to us His will. We did not want to move and then find out later that we had been ignoring God’s direction.
One after another the answers came and they were specific. From selling our house, to finding a place to live once we got to our destination, God answered our prayers before they were barely off our lips. In today’s passage God does the same thing for Abraham’s servant who is seeking God’s direction in finding a wife for Isaac. Verse fifteen says, “Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder.” Rebekah was the answer to the servant’s prayer and as he was finishing his prayer she walks his way.
God doesn’t always work this way, but we need to remember that He can and He does. Most importantly we need to remember to take everything to Him in prayer.
