God's People Thank -- Colossians 3:12-17

This text is all about what God's people do differently from the rest of the world.  Because we are God's chosen, we have certain privileges and certain expectations.  The saying, "Rank has its privileges", applies to you and I as Christians.  As soldiers in God's army we have confidence in our salvation.  As soldiers in God's army we have duties to fulfill, obligations to satisfy.

"...clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (Colossians 3:12b) We are called to exhibit specific traits, and we are instructed to cut each other some slack. "Bear with each other and forgive one another..." (Colossians 3:13a)

Besides mercy, kindness, patience and humility, we are called to be thankful.  By loving each other and treating one another as Jesus did, we will find peace.  Peace is very difficult to come by but something we all long for.  Because we are chosen; we are God's chosen people, we have peace.  Let us give thanks for that peace.
