Seeing Isn't Alway's Believing, John 14:1-11

Do you ever struggle believing God? I didn’t say believing in God, though some of us may struggle with that at times. Do you ever struggle believing God, believing that He loves you, or that He will take care of you. Maybe you struggle believing God will never leave you or forsake you.

There is a difference in believing in God and believing God. One way to know if you struggle believing God is by the amount of peace you feel. If life is hard, and stress is high yet you are surrounded by peace, you probably don’t struggle much with believing God. Peace comes from knowing you're not in control and the one who is can be trusted.

Jesus told his disciple in today’s scripture, “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.” If you struggle believing God and experiencing His peace, stop and look around. Can you see evidence of God at work? Can you remember a time when God moved mightily in your life or the life of someone close to you?

If you find yourself in a state of unbelief cling to those memories. God will prove Himself faithful again, but He may be taking you through a valley right now and is calling you to wait on Him. Don’t worry He is still there and all he asks is that you believe.
