The Story - Chapter 28 - New Beginnings

Acts 2:37 (NIV)
"When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

The Holy Spirit had just come down and rested on the Believers.  They were changed instantly, just as Jesus as promised.  As they began to teach and to preach the people heard what was said and they were heartbroken with guilt.

Often I too have been struck by my own guilt and shame.  My eyes were opened to the sin in my life and I felt lost until I repented.  Forgiveness changes everything.  When I believed Jesus died for me and my sins were wiped away, everything changed.  Even though I am still sinful, I am forgiven.  Every day can be like Easter Sunday for this sinner.

Consider how things have changed.  Christians live like forgiven people, changed people.  Our world view changes, our hearts change and we are a new creation.  There is joy and hope and most of all love, where once only doubt and fear and hatred resided.

Peter explained to the crowd that day just what it meant to be saved. "With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." (Acts 2:40)  These words still hold true today.  Forgiveness changes everything.
