This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24) We have today, to make the right choice. We have today to turn to God for life. We have today to confess Jesus as LORD. We do not have tomorrow.
My grandfather used to tell me to make hay while the sun shines. I believe his words to mean today we have the opportunity to change, to do good, to prepare ourselves. We have no guarantee of tomorrow. No promise that the sun will shine again.
There will come a day when there are no more second chances, no more opportunity to tell those we love about Jesus. I
saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books
were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to
the things written in the books, according to what they had done. Revelation 20:12 (NLT)
There are those days when I cry out to God, "Come, LORD Jesus," but I must remember there are still more who need to hear about Him. There are still more hearts to change and lives to save. Today, I will remember this as I go about my tasks. I don't have to preach, I only need to point to Jesus. I do this by my actions. Actions speak louder than words. When someone notices I am wearing a cross will they see a Christian or a hypocrite?
Opportunities abound today, but it may all end tomorrow. We just don't know so why take a chance. Who do you know who needs to hear about Jesus, who needs to hear your story?
