Who Would Have Expected It?

Acts 10:44-48

Our God is a God of the unexpected. He has done it throughout history.

Who would have expected that He would take a man that had a propensity to lie and who married a barren woman, and from them create a nation that would be a blessing to the world?

Who would have expected that He would take a man that cheated his own brother to gain his birthright and then lied to his father and through this man bring the seed of redemption?

Who would have expected that He used a man that murdered an Egyptian and then escaped to the wilderness for forty years only to return to lead his people to the Promised Land?

Who would have expected that He would take a man who was hiding in a winepress and use him to defeat a powerful nation in order to return Israel from pagan gods to the God of their ancestors?

Who have expected that He would use the lineage of a man who was an adulterer and murderer to bring His very own Son into the world?

Who would have expected that He would send His one and only son into a violent and chaotic world in order to bring redemption?

Who would have expected that His son would forgive the unforgivable: prostitutes, tax collectors, lepers, blind men, Samaritans and Gentiles?

Who would have expected that the Holy Spirit would be "poured out even on Gentiles"?

Who would have expected that God would work in the lives of people like you and like me, to bring us into a personal relationship with the Living God in order that we might share Him with others?

"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness, so that Christ’s power may rest on me".

Who would have expected It?
