Galatians 3:26-29
Getting dressed is something everyone does each day. Some may wear more clothes than others and some may buy expensive outfits while others shop at thrift stores, but we all wear clothes of some kind. It doesn’t really matter if they’re brand new or hand-me-downs, the point is to cover our nakedness before we go out into the world. It’s just standard practice to get dressed before leaving the house.
Today’s passage talks about being clothed in Christ. So, what if we put on Christ each day like we put on a shirt? What if our sins were covered by his grace and mercy?
Have you ever had a dream/nightmare where you leave your house naked? How frightening and anxiety-producing is that!? What if we never needed to worry about that again?
When you are part of God’s family, God promises you’ll have what you need. Now, he doesn’t say you’ll be wearing Gucci and Louis Vuitton, but you’ll have the best faith wardrobe around!
And in God’s family we are all equal. We are all transformed by the “clothes” we put on, so why not put on Christ? What better way to prepare for the day!
