Don't Seek Joy in Things
15 Speaking to the people, he went on, “Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot.” (Luke 12:15)
The Good Life, just what does that look like to you? I know that I used to think that if I could only have money, take a great vacation to somewhere and enjoy a beautiful beach; that would be "the good life." And, while that is not an evil desire, it is only a vacation, a week or two our of your entire life. It might be good, but it is so very temporary.
The world looks at things and possessions, as symbols of prosperity and well-being. But, have you ever been in a situation when you would give anything - even all those long sought after treasures - if only your life could go back to before...before the diagnosis, before the fire, before that all-encompassing life-changing event which robbed you of your peace and happiness.
