His Wonders Never Cease
by Judy Webb
Genesis 1:31 (NIV)
God saw
all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there
was morning--the sixth day.
If you are anything like me you might wake in the morning, and, following
that first cup of coffee, you glance out the window and check the weather. Then,
stepping out onto the deck or patio, marvel at the beauty of a sunrise. I
can't tell you how many times I am stunned by the early morning glow of color,
the breathtaking beauty of nature. “Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his
name;” (1 Chronicles 16:8) The existence of a mighty and powerful God is
evident. The colors that compliment this process are stunning. If you
live near an ocean or in the wooded north lands, or wherever morning greets
you, you can't help but be mesmerized by all our God has provided.
Genesis
1:27 (NIV)
So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
We are a part of God's creation and just as we
admire all the beauty He blessed us with, it is good to know that God is
pleased with His creation of us too. We are valuable to Him; we have a
purpose in His eyes. Knowing and understanding this is a good reason to get up
in the morning and prepare to share this Good News. “Look to the Lord and
His strength; seek his face always.” (1 Chronicles 16:11) God's love is evident and all around us,
let's open our eyes and greet the day!
PRAYER PRACTICE
Spoken Prayer – Out loud, pray for God to speak to you through your
reading. Praise God for giving us His word. Ask the Spirit to help you read
with faith, and to live out what you hear from God through the passage.
