Isaiah 43:16-19

Do not dwell on the past. God wants us to move forward, only Satan wants to keep us stuck in yesterday. Our future is waiting for us.  A bright morning filled with opportunity and a fresh start awaits.  The pain and failure that was yesterday has been wiped away by a God who died for us while we were yet sinners. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

That first day, following a long winter season, when we first step outside and see sunshine and blue skies and feel a blanket of soothing warmth in the air, we can wrap our arms around a day filled with hope.  The bleak and dreary winter is behind and the promise of spring lays before us.  Spring even smells fresh and new and we soon forget the harsh season just past. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Revelation 21:4)

See, I am doing a knew thing!  Moving forward, not dwelling on yesterday, is a benefit of living close to Jesus.  We don't have to remain stuck in the world of yesterday's regrets, no, we have a hope and a future.  "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

What ever tomorrow looks like, we don't have to face it alone.  We don't have to plow through the uncertainty every new day brings. By getting ourselves 'prayed-up' today and soaking in the Scriptures God provides during our quiet time, we realize we are not alone in this fresh new Spring season.  No, we have a guide, a Mighty Counselor who is making a way in the wilderness for us. He is at our side as we put one foot in front of the other.

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things;
    do not dwell on the past.
 See, I am doing a new thing!
    Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland."
