Revelation 4 is all about Christ's glory. On those days when we need to just bask in His power and majesty, this chapter is one to read and ponder. Take it verse by verse and relax in the words expressed.
Right at the door John was invited to enter and look around. "Come up here and I will show what must take place." (Revelation 4:1) The sight before him was unlike anything he had seen before.
This is what we have in store for us some day. We may struggle in this life, worry about tomorrow, feel pain and anxiety. Our surroundings may be bleak and dreary, but our future is anything but. Is this something we can grasp, something we can hold on to during those seasons when we are overwhelmed by grief. Can this picture give comfort? If we believe in Jesus it can and it does.
It is said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." For some this means love is blind, but for this writer it means my eyes see what my heart believes. Because I believe in Jesus and know that He died for me and for my loved ones, the picture John paints for us in his revelation is real. I can see my husband living with Jesus in this world. I can see myself someday doing the same. And you...? Do your eyes see what your heart believes?
